How pricing works
CNC price is built from the part's real geometry: stock volume and material rate, setup and programming, machining time derived from material removal rate and machinability, then every detected feature — holes, pockets, threads, slots, fillets — costed individually. Quantity breaks apply to the machining portion.
Hard-to-machine features carry a surcharge that reflects the extra cycle time they actually cause, not a penalty. The quote itemises all of it.

What file format do you need for CNC machining?
STEP (.step/.stp) or IGES (.iges/.igs). These carry solid geometry, which is what the analysis needs to find holes, pockets and threads. Mesh formats such as STL have no solid geometry and are quoted as 3D prints instead.
How accurate is the instant CNC quote?

What tolerances can you hold?
ISO 2768-m as standard, down to ±0.01 mm where the drawing calls for it. Tighter tolerances carry a price uplift, shown in the quote.
