How pricing works
Sheet metal price is calculated per the shop's cut-and-bend model: laser time from cut length at the real feed rate for that material and gauge, pierce count, press-brake time per bend by material family and thickness, plus material by volume with a nesting scrap allowance.
Flat-pattern conversion, bend validation and PEM insertion are costed as separate line items so you can see exactly what the forming work adds.
What we check automatically
- Bend count, angle and inner radius against material thickness
- Bend collisions and minimum flange length
- Flat-pattern perimeter and pierce count for cut time
- Material and gauge combinations we can actually cut
Sheet Metal — what people ask
What file format do you need for sheet metal?
STEP (.step/.stp) or DXF. The analysis extracts the flat pattern, bend count, bend angles and inner radii directly from the model.
Do you check whether the part can actually be bent?
Yes. The analysis simulates the bend sequence and flags collisions. If no bend order can produce the geometry, the part is marked as not bendable and cannot be ordered until it is corrected.
What thickness can you cut and form?
From 30 gauge up to 1 inch depending on material, in cold rolled steel, galvanised steel, aluminium 5052 and 6061, and stainless 304 and 316.
